Hello, and welcome to our new Refuge Recovery Chicago Intersangha mailing list!
Spring is finally arriving; Chicago is thawing. The growing season is beginning, and that includes new vital growth within our own burgeoning community: growth in our relationships between our members, our many meetings, and our organization with this city.
Over the last few months, the Intersangha council has met twice to set our goals for 2019. Finding out the best hows, when’s, where’s and why’s to be there for all of you is our priority. And, finding the best answers to those questions starts with hearing from all of you.
To do so, we’ve launched www.RefugeRecoveryChicago.org. We will be using the website as a central location for news about our local meetings, communications about activities and events, and for housing materials to support your personal practices. In the coming month, we’ll also begin use the site to keep people apprised about social opportunities off the mat with both our Activities and Outreach committees. It’s also the place to start when you want to reach us with any news you want to share with the community!
At the beginning of April, we’ll begin releasing a bi-monthly newsletter, making sure the same kind of information better reaches you as its happening. Also, we’re hoping you’ll reach back with your suggestions and feedback so we can better serve our vibrant community! Please be sure to reach out via email at refugerecoverychicago@gmail.com to say hello!
That’s it for now; stay in peace friends. And stay tuned!

Service Opportunities!
2018 was a great year of growth for us: our Sangha created new meetings for EVERY day of the week! We also had a great set of full day retreats and fantastic holiday potluck in December. Work like this happens when we work together; join us in doing so in 2019!
If you’re interested in joining us in working to spread Refuge Recovery, by finding new homes for meetings, or in introducing our practice to institutions, Outreach needs you! Reach out to Michael Kramer if you’re interested in hearing more.
Are you a Social Butterfly? Come create great opportunities for fellowship with your friends amongst the Sangha (both those you know and those you haven’t met yet) with our Activities Committee! Get ahold of Zoe Winter if you want to work with Sangha on the Third Jewel.
If you’re interested in helping us prepare for our part in producing RefCon 5 this July, join our Welcoming Committee by sending us an email directly at Refuge Recovery Chicago

Please help support us in getting our message out to those who are still suffering by donating today!
